Do not announce the photo shoot

Kids do not enjoy photo shooting so much. Do not tell them that they will be photographed. Tell them that they will play and spend some fun time. Any Children Photography Guide would advice you to tell them this.

Snap during their happy moments

Kids can not pretend or act. If you try to tel them to pose, it is very likely that they will not do it. Instead, try to capture spontaneous photos. Let them enjoy the moment and be happy. Take pictures while they enjoy their favorite candy, or play with their friends. Do not tell them to smile for the photo. Instead, tell them a joke or something funny, so you will have a sincere smile to capture.

Take lots of shots

Kids can’t sit more than a minute in one position. They are curious,in constant motion, and will move around to explore. Always take lots of shots, so you are sure that you will have the perfect one. You will have it when yo do 10 or more shots.

Pick the time

Timing is crucial when we talk about children photography. You don’t want the photo session to happen during the nap time for the day. Kids will be sleepy and nervous, and you will not get the best shots. For example, it is best to take photos of toddlers in the morning or after their afternoon nap.

Include interesting props

Props will bring visual interest to your photography. On the other hand, kids will have something to keep them entertained. So, hand them a cup of hot cocoa, an umbrella, blanket, or a basket, or anything else that will fit the photography.
