The last week was reserved for the international matches when the football is in question. It was time for the national teams to keep with the competition for the upcoming Euro Cup 2020. Therefore, all the players that had a call from the coaches of their natinal teams went back to their homelands in order to give the best for the coulours of their countries. So was the case with the Macedonian super star, a quite young yet extremely tallented player, Elif Elmas.
The Macedonian team first faced the Letonian team at home, defeating them with easiness. It seems like all the players were extra motivated for the match, willing to show their best and sum additional three points with the win. It was an important match for the Macedonians not only for the win but because of the historical hundredth match of their captain, Goran Pandev. But what brought additional happiness and faith among the fans was the excellent performance of the young player, Elif Elmas. Elmas is one of the youngest in the team, yet it turned out to be one of the most important players, according to his appearance on the pitch.
It is more than clear that Elmas does not enjoy to the fullest the current season at Fenerbahce, his Turkish team. The medias sppeculate that the reason number one for this dissatisfaction is the coach’s will to play him more deffensive than offensive, which is his natural position though. Elmas has nothing tohide that his will is to play more offensive as he feels more confident and ready when playing this role in the team. However he barely got the chance to show his true colours at this position because of the irreplaceable Valbuena, therefore Elif had to play all season long somewhat more deffensive.
His five minutes came during the performance with the national team. It was his best chance to prove the Fenerbahce’s coach wrong for leaving him always with the deffence. We all witnessed his spectacular play and a hunry will to show his best. Exactly that match made the coach think about the actual possition of Elmas. So Janal immediatelly called the Macedonian player in order to arrange a meeting and speak about the progress he have seen as well as the changes he is willing to make. Janal has only revealed that he had decided to give him a chance to shine bright and make a good career in Fenerbahce by allowing him to take his natural position, something Elmas has been waiting since the very first match for the Turkish team.
On the other hand the Turkish media reveal that Elif Elmas has recently denied a transfer at the island. They claim that the Macedonian has said “no” to the English team Cardiff. The truth is that Cardiff is moving to the second division for the next season, which is only an additional reason for Elmas not to leave his current team.
Elmas used to play for the Macedonian first division team Rabotnichki before he joined the Fenerbahce squad.
