Cuban Leader Fidel Castro Is Dead at 90.

The infamous leader of Cuba who reigned for nearly half a century, brought the Cold War to the West in 1959 and nearly pushed the world to nuclear war – has died at age 90 after years of declining health. His death was announced via Cuban television.

Castro was in power for longer than any other national leader other than Queen Elizabeth II. However, we are not here to talk about politic, but we wanted to show you the birthplace “Casa Natal de Fidel Castro” in Birán which is now a museum and you can all visit for $10.

They were born in 1926 and 1931 on the 93km² estate of their father, which from 2002 is opened as a museum. And if you ever decide to visit it, you must ensure you have your passport with you. As you probably already know, dollars are not used in Cuba, and the old tickets are still available.

The estate was originally founded in 1915 by his father, Angel Castro Argiz, as sugarcane plantation. The road to Santiago de Cuba ran over the property, and for that reason he built an arena for cockfights, hotel, post office, shop and pub.
