Admit it, at least once in your life you’ve caught yourself sitting in front of your TV and drooling over the flawless skin that models from those skin product commercials had. It is just unbelievable how perfect they can be, right? And what is the next thing you would do then? You won’t tell? Okay, I will – you would march to your bathroom and then SOAK your face with the mixture of every face cream you have, cut a pair of cucumbers and went to sleep. In the morning you would realize that you’ve done absolutely nothing for your face and just made your pillows greasy and wasted tons of face creams. What do you mean you didn’t do it? Liar.

Okay, you maybe didn’t, but I sure did. And let me tell you something, I got tired from it, so I’ve started doing some research. After hundreds of books, dozens of talks and thousands of beauty portals, I finally have it – the list of ultimate dewy look hacks. Take notes.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is the number one investment if you are craving for a dewy skin. It is going to do wonders to it as a non – comedogenic highlighter (doesn’t block your pores) because it is semi – solid. Not to mention it is, of course, 100 percent natural. This oil is going to become solid on room temperature and liquid on extra warm temperature, so in other words, dabbing it over your cheekbones, brow bone and bridge of your nose will give you a nice hydrated finish that doesn’t seem oily at all.

Exofilation

Exofilation means washing a part of your body (in this case your face) with granular cosmetic preparation in order to remove dead cells from the skin’s surface. Of course, there are other ways to do this, like putting your cotton washcloth under lukewarm water and rubbing it on your face in small circles that start from your nose and proceed towards forehead, chin and temples. Not only the dry and dead skin from your face is going to be gone, but you will also forget about morning facial swelling. After this, clean your face once again to remove all that dead skin from it.

The next step is applying a toner. I would recommend Dr Hauschka toner because it is good for all skin types and it is alcohol-free (which is important because alcohol can dry out your skin completely). Apply it on the cotton round and swipe it over your face gently.

Makeup tricks

There are tons of makeup tricks that can help you achieve the dewy look, so I listed my favorite ones here:

  • Instead of using liquid highlighter after the foundation, mix a drop into it and apply that mixture with a damp beauty blender
  • Use lipstick as a fabulous custom blush by blending two shades of lipsticks together: matte and creamy one with shimmery one
  • Always dampen your beauty blender before blending your foundation. This way you will avoid the caky effect

Drink water

You always have to be hydrated, especially during these warm months. Average person needs 8 glasses of water a day in order to function properly. It helps your digestion, brain function and nourishes your skin. Never underestimate the importance of water!

SPF

The easiest way to damage your skin is through sun overexposure. And even though your skin seems super glowy while tanned, you have to understand that then, your skin is actually burned. Not to mention that avoiding sun protection you are increasing the risk of skin cancer.

So remember, every time before going outside, put some sunscreen on.

For God’s sake – don’t touch your face!

Even though this may seem like a myth, but did you know that our hands are the dirtiest parts of our body? Not to mention our cellphones (which we hold in our hands non-stop) – these have more bacteria on them than your toilet! If you suffer from an acne-prone skin, always pay attention are you resting your chin in your palms, and make sure you clean your phone with a hand sanitizer when you come home.

Diet matters

There are foods that worsen your skin, and then there are foods that benefit your skin. The key is to pick foods that are rich in antioxidants, vitamins (A, E, C) and protein, and avoid sweets and junk food.

That would be it. I hope my methods will help you just like they’ve helped me. If you have some more dewy look hacks, let me know in the comments.
