Velvet sofas can be found in different styles and colors. Bold and vibrant colors are more common choice than the subtle ones. When it comes to cleaning, velvet requires special attention. Experts will most often choose professional service than cleaning on your own, but still there are many ways to do the cleaning at home and thus save some money. For instance, one way to clean velvet furniture is with the use of baking soda and lemon juice. First, vacuum the sofa with a brush attachment. Then, mix two tablespoons of baking soda in a bowl with lemon juice until there is a decent amount of foam to work with. Skim the foam with a soft cloth and wipe. Don’t rub the solution into the velvet, but stick with straight movements along the nap. Wait for about 3-5 hours until it is completely dry.
