Outdoor Herb Gardens

When deciding on which herbs to grow, you should consider the growth habits and space requirements first. For instance, angelica and loveage can’t thrive in small beds. I need to mention that some of the plants are very picky about the soil where they are grown However, there are some herbs, like rosemary, that can adapt practically to any conditions. If you are a beginner, ask your neighbor for advice. Ask him which plants can thrive in your location. Basil requires full sun, while mint prefers partial shade.

Indoor Herb Gardens

Do you have a small herb garden in your kitchen? Many herbs can be grown indoors in containers. You just need to choose sunny windowsills to arrange them and if needed, you need to use a grow light to provide full spectrum light. Make sure the containers you choose have adequate drainage and be careful when watering your herbs. Don’t let the pots sit in water. If the soil in the pots drys out completely, then I advise you to put the pots in small dish filled with water for 10 min. This will allow the soil to re-absorb water. Harvest your herb garden by pinching off the tips of the plants and feed liquid fertilizer every two weeks.
