In The Summertime, When The Weather Is Fine

What should you have on your mind in the Summertime? Relaxation, travel, beaches, warm sun and cool breezes, exotic bathing suits and SCUBA vacations. What do you have on your mind most the time during the Summer? Mosquitoes and sweat. Well, you can always cool down. There are always swimming pools, rivers, lakes, oceans and streams. But around fresh water especially, mosquitoes multiply. And they will straight-up ruin a peaceful day near the water’s edge by poking you full of tiny little holes that resolve into itchy little bumps which turn into scabs if you scratch them like you’d prefer. But at least you and the family can go home, right? It’s not like you’ve got an infestation in the backyard! And then you remember the youngest kid out there with the hose turning the sandbox into a pond over the weekend, and as you walk up the front porch, you see buzzing clouds of irritants just waiting for you to come home so a few of their number can sneak inside and play the vampire while you sleep. This has got to stop! Not only because of the uncomfortable nature of the infestation, but because your wife’s been watching the news, and she’s pretty freaked out about the Zika virus. As it turns out, this mosquito-borne illness has already affected fourteen people in Florida. But New Jersey is hundreds of miles from Miami, right? Wrong.

Miami isn’t the only area affected by Zika. As a matter of fact, New York and New Jersey are prime targets because they regularly receive an influx of people who come from regions where there has been nothing done to combat Zika. And even in places like the US, where Zika is being fought against with the highest standards in modern technology, efforts are still questionable. One measure being taken in the Florida keys right now is the release of a genetically modified kind of mosquito designed to stem the tide of Zika infestation, among other mosquito-borne illnesses. Hopefully the measure works, but it’s got all the hallmarks of a bad science fiction film; so time will tell.

But There Are Solutions!

The thing is, everyone is getting excited and frightened over something that has a pretty realistic, dependable solution. If you’re in the New York/New Jersey area, Delsea an NJ mosquito control is just a click or a phone call away. They’ll use the latest in effective and non-threatening methods to keep mosquitos from destroying your Summer. It’s not just about discomfort anymore, either. With people daily arriving from Zika-affected countries, the virus is spreading. And since it is sexually transmitted, it has two fronts of affectation. While you can keep your pants on with relative ease, it’s kind of hard to stop a mosquito from biting you on the back of the neck when you’re not paying attention; and then what if your family decided to bring another member into it? There are severe birth defects which accompany this virus, and they should be avoided.

Low-Impact Protection

Things like mosquito nets, bug spray, and torches filled with mosquito repellant can help you stop these pesky airborne micro-vampires from spreading their disease to you and your family. Finding professional pest control to help implement such measures is a great way to ensure the greatest amount of protection. While it’s impossible to get rid of all the mosquitos in New Jersey, at the very least you can restrict their access to you and your family by being proactive in your pest control endeavors.
