When it comes to decorating a garden, you can choose from variety of planters. Some of them you can found in the stores and there are many others that you can make out of some items that you already have at home. Some such items can be old chairs, bicycles, kitchen utensils and maybe even some birdcages. Today, we would like to show you several ideas of how to decorate your garden with some beautiful birdcage planters and we hope that you will like them.

Birdcages are used as home of birds, but besides this primary use they can be repurposed in many different ways, for instance as a garden planter. Almost any type of plant can look good in a birdcage, so feel free to put any plant you want in that empty birdcage. The first thing that you should do before turning a birdcage into a planter is to clean it thoroughly from any rust. You can also paint it with a color that best suits the color scheme of your backyard or garden. After that make sure to reinforce the cage and tighten any screw, because it will become quite heavy once there is soil and plants in it. Now it is time to nicely line the cage with moss or coco liner, to prevent soil from spilling out of the cage. Mix slow release fertilizer and water retaining granules in potting mix and fill it in the 1/4 of the birdcage. After this clear space in the soil and place your plants gently. Once you have done this find the right place to hang the birdcage planter to become a focal point of the garden. Scroll down to see some birdcage planters that we have chosen for you today and get inspired to add some such planters in your garden too. Enjoy!
